What sits on a job

The job carries
everything it needs.

Approved artwork, substrate and finish, the machine it has to run on, who is installing it and when. Not spread across a folder, an inbox and someone's memory — attached to the job, so the person running it is not reconstructing the brief.

When a job is short of something, it says so before it reaches the bench rather than when someone walks up to it.

Each stage is a step the job actually passes through, so a job stuck at laminate is visible as stuck at laminate, not just as late.
